Today Omaha Performing Arts released videos of the top two local winners of OPA's BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King Musical Songwriting Competition.

The contest, presented through a special partnership with Broadway's North American Tour of BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King Musical connected top local songwriters with Broadway talent.

BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King Musical, winner of two Tony® Awards and a Grammy® Award, tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom as a songwriter and performer.

The touring Broadway production is on stage at Omaha's Orpheum Theater April 4-9, 2017. Tickets for weekend performances are available atwww.TicketOmaha.com.

About the Performances

This week performers joined the top two winners for a special recording session on stage at the Holland Performing Arts Center's Kiewit Hall.

The recording session included collaboration of Josh A. Dawson with Jaymie Argotsinger (winner age 13-18 division) as the pair recorded "Inside (Speak Up)."

Ximone Rose worked with Omahans Cher Klosner-Lane (winner age 19+ division) and Gene Klosner on Klosner-Lane's song "When the Music Isn't Playing (Color Outside the Lines)."
