- Celebrating Black History Month! The compelling, humorous and heartfelt RHAPSODY IN BLACK ! This brilliant and sought after show is a "harrowing" and "hilarious" theatrical performance focusing on overcoming racism, childhood trauma, love and career challenges, with a moving and joyous outcome. It is written and performed by LeLand Gantt- noted tv, film and theater actor and directed by the famed Estelle Parsons.
Sat. Feb. 21 at 5pm and Sunday Feb 22 at 3PM. Talkback – and delicious buffet with wine and other beverages included, to follow both shows! Morningside Theater Co. MTCo. is a volunteer, neighborhood organization with an advisory board made up of diverse professionals in the arts and social work. We have won two AUDELCO awards and receive renewed grants from Columbia Community Service, West Harlem Development Corp, Morningside Heights Community Coalition and LMCC /UMEZ Engagement Zone. Originally founded as The Morningside Players we now use the umbrella name Morningside Theater Co. to include our Playwrights Group, video work and musical events.
