You'll say, "Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin'!" on March 7th and 8th as the Kaye Playhouse comes alive with The Sound of Music. In this nostalgic turn of events, The Little Orchestra Society's Professor Treblemaker and members of the Orchestra, conducted by GRAMMY Award-winning conductor David Alan Miller, will be saluting the talented Broadway team of Rodgers & Hammerstein with the Professor's own live TV retrospective.

The audience is in for a treat and can imagine they hear silver white winters melt into spring while the professional musicians perform "a few of [their] favorite things" composed by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, II. Characters from several of the duo's award-winning musicals will be on hand to explain how Hammerstein's memorable lyrics combined with Rodgers' catchy tunes have resulted in timeless songs that resonate with the young and old. From a "Flibbertijibbet! A will-o'-the wisp" like Maria from The Sound of Music to the commanding King of Siam and Anna from the King and I who teach the importance of "Getting to Know You," to Oklahoma's Curly and Laurey, who will be in need of a parking space for their "Surrey with the Fringe on Top," "A Grand Night for Singing" (in daylight) will be had by all.

"It's incredibly exciting to bring Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic music to a brand-new generation. Some of our young audience members are having their very first concert going experience and I can't think of a better introduction!," said Writer and Stage Director Craig Shemin. Artistic Advisor David Alan Miller also shared: "When I was 5 years old, I fell in love with the music of Rodgers & Hammerstein, watching and singing along with the movie versions of their timeless classics. Sharing their music with kids today is such a treat; they are the most beautiful songs I know." As always, L.O.S. KIDS favorite Professor Treblemaker will be employing his own brand of storytelling while encouraging audience participation.

L.O.S KIDS is presented in an up-close and fun format, starring characters that today's kids (and grown-ups) are sure to enjoy. All programs feature a humorous script written by veteran children's television writer, Craig Shemin.
