Creator CODE Is a V-Log & Live-Streamed Residency for  creators using the Visual Arts. Presented by Dare2Draw as Part of Will Eisner Week 2026. . .Short Description: Be part of a movement to protect human creativity. Your support funds a month-long residency where comic artists' work is authenticated in real time, resulting in a published anthology, a documentary, and a new standard for artistic provenance.

Creator CODE "LIVE" brings together seven of New York’s working sequential artists for a month of creativity live-streamed & V-Log from our studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Creator CODE "LIVE" has a mission to showcase these artists and to help their fans and all sequential artists by sharing unparalleled livestreaming access into their inspirations and techniques. 
 

The entire journey will be documented for a mini-documentary honoring Will Eisner Week 2026 (March 1-7). Eisner Week celebrates the legacy of Brooklyn-born Will Eisner and promotes graphic novel literacy, free speech, and the sequential arts.

SEVEN Intrepid Cartoonists at Work, Sharing Their Journeys
During the month of February, Creator CODE "LIVE" resident artists will create original sequential comic stories. Periodic livestreams and V-logs of the artist at their work, and frank, informative interviews will bring the ideas, talents and processes of these striving cartoonists to the world. 

The artists’ brand new works will be published in a printed anthology & represented in our mini-documentary.

At Dare2Draw, our DNA is woven from the rich tapestry of Manhattan’s comic history. Inspired by the pioneering days of Backdate Magazine and the creative legacy of the "7 Cards" forged at the Chelsea Hotel, we’ve been uniting cartoonists and comic enthusiasts for over a decade. Now, as the world reawakens to post-pandemic, apocalyptic and dystopian world, we’re excited to launch a new project that will:
 

• Reconnect Creators: After a long hiatus from in-person gatherings, this studio is our chance to network with fellow artists, share techniques, and spark collaborations.
• Celebrate Culture: Immerse yourself in the history and evolving future of sequential art— using the power of the "Visual Narrative" that is the cornerstone of literacy, creativity, and cultural expression.
• Spark new ideas together. This is where friendly rivalry meets hands-on mentorship, all in a community dedicated to pushing your craft forward. Access inspiring live sessions with guest artists, in-person and on Zoom, and turn collective drive into personal breakthrough.

Why the  [“Fifty-Eight Shades of Grey”]?

The pandemic changed how we create and connect. With social distancing and virtual interactions becoming the norm, live events have been sorely missed. Studies and community voices alike tell us that in-person gatherings foster not only creativity but also emotional well-being and professional growth. Our series is designed to provide that safe, vibrant space where art, conversation, and inspiration flourish once again.

Creator Code "Live" is a limited documentary pilot and a live-event incubator launching a, live-streamed crowdfunding campaign for visual artists using the Eisner ETHOS. Based in a raw studio at 540 President Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn, we document the entire creative process to provide what the digital art world desperately needs: an unforgeable, unique fingerprint of human creation.

HAND TO GOD! Long-term Goal: To protect and fund human artistry by creating a transparent platform that provides an unforgeable unique fingerprint and provenance for every piece of art, establishing verifiable ownership and identity here with Dare2Draw at 540 President street! EASY COMPANY 
 

Core Objectives:
Launch a live-stream crowdfunding "engine" studio incubator space with built-in provenance by broadcasting all featured creators live on a rotating schedule!
Produce a documentary series showcasing the value of authenticated human creativity.
Fund 4-9 artists-in-residence, providing them a safe place to work free with equipment and snacks.

The Documentary Series (The Human Proof)
The footage is the evidence. It captures the artist's identity, their subconscious techniques, decision-making, and the organic evolution of the work—elements impossible for AI to fabricate authentically.
