Wagner College Theatre Raises Over $500 For BC/EFA With Concert Honoring Michael Friedman Wagner College Theatre hosted a BC/EFA Concert honoring the life and music of composer Michael Friedman on Friday, February 23 following a performance of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, where $550 was raised for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The concert featured original Broadway cast member and director of the WCT production James Barry, the cast of WCT's Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson featuring performances from WCT performance majors Julia Adams, Brianna Brice, Joseph Cowdrey, Kellen Gaughan, Dana Kluczyk, McKenzie Kupres, Michael Luszczak, Ryan Moroney, Albert Nelthropp and Gabriel Trimbur. The concert was produced and directed by Brianna Brice and Rozzie Heeger for WCT's Theatre Advisory Board.

In the fall of 2017, the theatre community lost one of its brightest members, Michael Friedman, to complications related to AIDS. Wagner College Theatre is lucky to have a strong relationship with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and WCT students found that Wagner's upcoming production of Friedman's Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson would be a perfect way to honor Friedman's mark in the world of musical theatre, while raising money for an organization which aims to provide treatment and services for people affected by HIV/AIDS and their families.

The benefit concert featured the music of Michael Friedman, spanning from his more popular musical theatre scores to his own solo albums, hoping to honor his life, legacy, and impact on the theatre community.
