Wagner College Theatre is proud to announce Carlos Garcia Estevez as Artist-in-Residence during Spring 2016.

An internationally renown artist famous for his contemporary explorations of commedia dell'arte, Estevez has performed and taught world-wide. As the Artistic director of Manifesto Poetico Lab and an associate artist at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, he directs, together with François Lecoq, the project Manifesto In Action. He trained with Jacques Lecoq for three years, both at his École Internationale de Théâtre and at LEM (Laboratoire d'Etude de Mouvement). He also participates as a movement director at the Dutch National Opera Academy and Holland's Diep Muziektheater.

WCT's Head of Voice David McDonald has been collaborating with Garcia and his associate Paulo Serantes for a decade, including taking students to study in Italy, the Netherlands, and next France.

While in residence, Garcia will teach, offer workshops, and direct the world premiere of a new devised work of theatre titled NEW YORK LANDS. The show runs March 1 - March 6 in Wagner College's Stage One.

The cast of NEW YORK LANDS includes Theatre Performance majors Kevin Atwater, Brianna Brice, David Dines, Cassandra Dougherty, Matt Healy, Michael Luszczak, Hadly Patterson, Audrey Robinson, John Thacker, Sophia Tzougros, and Bill Wetherbee.

The production design team includes: Matt Hervilly (sets/props), Paulo Serantes and Pam Pangaro (lights), and Shane Indeglia (dramaturg). Nina Weber is production stage manager with assistant stages managers Olivia Weiss and Vanessa Rebell.

Performances of NEW YORK LANDS are Tuesday through Saturday at 8pm, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. For tickets call (718) 390-3259 or boxoffice@wagner.edu. Wagner College Theatre Box Office hours are Monday through Friday 12:00Noon to 4:00pm. Single tickets ($10) are on sale now for New York Lands. Wagner College students attend free with current ID.
