Things My Mother Taught Me: A Daughter's Journey is a 70 min dance/theater piece. A drama in content, a comedy in delivery! A daughter is continuously drawn to the eclectic advice of her mother. When one failing comfort follows another, frustration dances through the spectrum of emotions halting in solitary resignation. A Polar bear bares advice, as magical air healing descends. All answers lie in the palm of your hand? None of life is a choice; your fate is your astrology. Limited engagement will be on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Salmagundi Club, 47 Fifth Avenue between 11th & 12th, NYC, Tickets are $10 (cash only), and there will be $5 palm readings available pre-show by Princess Alsharq. Salma Allam is a dancer, actor and choreographer. As a dancer she has toured Asia and worked with several modern dance and ballet companies in New York and Conneticut. She has danced in the independent films Bolden and The Great Explorer, as well as the television show Caprica . While on tour with Don Omar, Salma had the opportunity to dance through North and South America. She has also appeared in Summerstage with Viewsic Expressions under artistc director Germaul Barnes. Her training includes the Aliey School were she was selected to perform with the company in Memoria, the Merce Cunnigham Studio, where she received her two-year certificate. Her acting training continues at the Deena Levy Theater Studio, where she has been studying for two years. Salma is co founder of Movement in C, and is artistic director of Salma Allam Dance Theater. Her choreography credits include, Eternal Bleeding which is dedicated to sito (grandma), Bound by Love, and Things My Mother Taught Me: A Daughter's Journey.
