The Movement Theatre Company Presents LOOK UPON OUR LOWLINESS, 4/4-20
By: Emily Stubbs
The Movement Theatre Company, in association with Radical Evolution, presents LOOK UPON OUR LOWLINESS, a new play written by GLAAD media award winner Harrison David Rivers and directed by David Mendizábal.
LOOK UPON OUR LOWLINESS, a spoken word elegy for a chorus of male voices tells the story of seven gay men of color whose lives are turned upside down after the death of a close friend. Part meditation and part celebration, the play is an unexpectedly funny examination of the interconnectedness of love, loss, faith, and healing. With this play The Movement Theatre Company aims to engage Harlem in a dialogue and celebrate the diversity within the LGBTQ community at large.
LOOK UPON OUR LOWLINESS will have eleven performances from April 4 - 20, 2013. To view exact dates and purchase tickets, please visit The Movement Theatre Company website here: http://www.themovementtheatrecompany.org.
Performances will be at the Harlem School of the Arts Theatre. 645 St. Nicholas Avenue. New York, NY 10030.
The Movement Theatre Company is dedicated to developing newworks by artists of color
and producing work that highlights both the collective and diverse human experience. Attendees of LOOK UPON OUR LOWLINESS will experience the new, soulful works of independent artists.
