Stand (*an autumn play) is an experiential artistic event unfolding the story of two young lovers
lost in time. HE weaves together remnants of HER, grappling with the torment that accompanies
mistakes-once-made and the inability to move back through time and mend them. Encapsulated
in poetry, multimedia, and scenic installation, Stand tackles the barriers of traditional theatre and
emerges as a triumphant compilation of sight, sound, and sensation.

The American Laboratory is a fledgling art company with special interest in blending the
boundaries of the visual, theatrical, and performance arts. Dissecting the art forms into multiple
parts and investigating each individually (specifically the importance of language in narrative
storytelling), the company creates consistently innovative, site-specific theatre in the Brooklyn
art community. Past projects include The Urge That We Knew And The Language That
Mattered and We Are Nebeneinander (We Are Side By Side.) Visit: www.americanlaboratory.org

This project is part of the FiveMyles Space Program. FiveMyles offers the use of the gallery for
deserving and innovative artistic projects, such as this production by The American Laboratory. We
are particularly interested in showcasing work that has few pre-conceived ideas of the boundaries
of a given art form.
