Terra Firma To Collaborate With The Railroad Playhouse

By:

Terra Firma Theatre Company, a biodynamic, non-profit artistic company dedicated to producing collaborative theatre, announced today an ongoing partnership with The Railroad Playhouse, a non-profit arts organization and theater based in Newburgh, New York.

Terra Firma performed its first reading on March 26th, 2011 as part of the BoxCar Reading Series. The night consisted of two short plays, Home Free! by Landford Wilson, and The Dumbwaiter by Harold Pinter. The plays were directed by Cobey Mandarino and performed by Hannah Cabell, Derek Lucci, and Eric Slater. The next reading, The Suicide Tapes, by christopher oscar peña, explores the fragile nature of family, letting go, the obsessions that drown us, and what happens when the past shows up to haunt you, literally and figuratively. It will be performed on August 7, 2011 at 8 PM. All readings will be held at The Railroad Playhouse in Newburgh, New York.

?We are very pleased to be working with The Railroad Playhouse and excited to share our bold, innovative theater with the community of Newburgh,? said Stephanie Bratnick, founder and artistic director of Terra Firma. ?In a very short period of time, our young company has already had tremendous success and we look forward to continuing to expand our audience and productions.?

The Railroad Playhouse strives to provide a home for playwrights, directors, actors to workshop and showcase new plays; and present local, national, and International Artists of all genres.

Seth Soloway, co-founder and artistic director of The Railroad Playhouse said, ?We are thrilled to announce our residency with Terra Firma. The development of emerging theatrical works and artists is at the core of our artistic mission. The quality of Terra Firma's work is unmatched and their presence within our walls is a gigantic step towards achieving our mission. I look forward to seeing what will grow over what we hope will be a very long partnership.?
