Tongue in Cheek Theater Announces 3-Week Revival of HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, 10/17-11/2

By:

Off-Off Broadway theater company Tongue in Cheek Theater Productions (TIC) presents longest run yet, a 3-week revival of the Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive by Paula Vogel, running from, October 17-November 2, 2013. Set in the 1960s, Drive chronicles the formative years of precocious teen Li'l Bit, who yearns to get out of her small town and away from her dysfunctional family.

Producing Artistic Director Jake Lipman helms TIC's production of How I Learned to Drive, assisted by Allison Lemel, with music and sound design by Philip Rothman (nominee, 2010 New York Innovative Theatre Award for best sound design for TIC's production of Proof).

The cast features Lynn Berg as Uncle Peck, Jake Lipman as Li'l Bit, Michael Edmund as Male Greek Chorus, Joan D. Saunders as Female Greek Chorus 1, Shelley Little as Female Greek Chorus 2, and Holland Hamilton as Female Greek Chorus 3.

Tongue in Cheek Theater was founded in 2006 to produce thought-provoking comedies. Since its founding, TIC has produced more than 23 productions, from the New York premiere of Books on Tape by William Missouri Downs in FringeNYC to its most recent production in April 2013 of The Mistakes Madeline Made by Elizabeth Meriwether (FOX's 'The New Girl'). Jon Sobel of BlogCritics hailed TIC's production of Madeline as "The best comedy I've seen onstage so far this year."

Performances begin on Thursday, October 17 and run each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 8 pm through Saturday, November 2. Tickets are $18.

All performances will be at The Bridge Theatre @ Shetler Studios, 244 West 54 Street, 12th floor, NYC. Take the 1, A, B, C, and D trains to 59 Street Columbus Circle.
