THE SECRETS OF AVONDALE FALLS Plays Dixon Place Tonight

By:

The O'Debra Twins are back! For the last year, they've been quietly constructing their most ambitious work to date. Tonight, August 15th at 7:30pm, you're invited to a free reading of The Secrets of Avondale Falls, the most absurd, over-the-top, outrageous soap opera ever conceived. It's like Dynasty meets The Power Rangers, but with a hundred times more quicksand. Do not miss this sneak peek of the first two episodes in the Dixon Place Lounge (161A Chrystie St.)! Doors at 7pm, show at 7:30.

The Secrets of Avondale Falls, written by The O'Debra Twins and directed by Peter James Cook, stars Sean Crespo, Gregg Bellon, Diane O'Debra, Tanya O'Debra, Jason Quarles, and Drae Campbell.

Avondale Falls. Where everybody knows your name. Because they're planning to poison you for sleeping with their fiancé while they were in an amnesia-induced coma after falling into a pit of quicksand, and your husband, the world's handsomest doctor, is trying to put you in a medical prison for the exceptionally beautiful and rich. Don't worry. You've got the skeleton key to the Harrington Diamond Vault and a mind control laser beam. They're all going to pay for what they've done to you.

THE O'DEBRA TWINS are asthmatic Irish twins who were born out of cabbages in a McDonald's bathroom. They have no blood or guts. They are instead filled with confetti. The ECNY Award nominated comic sister duo tragically split in 2008, and have triumphantly reunited. They co-hosted the hit open micSHOW & TELL at The Bowery Poetry Club for five years. Their wildly popular annual O'Debbie Awards Show garnered a Best of New York Award from The Village Voice.

PETER James Cook is a writer, director and performer. Recent NY directing: Raptured (Play Co.), TRAVIS (Ars Nova), Never Sleep Alone (Joe's Pub),The Imitation Game (Parsons School of Design), The Tempest (Porpentine), Sailor Man (NY Int'l Fringe -- Outstanding Play), Straight Up Vampire (Joe's Pub), The Nosemaker's Apprentice (The Brick). Peter is a Drama League directing fellow, and pays the bills by recreating crimes and maladies for basic cable.

SEAN CRESPO is a comedian, writer, and classically trained actor who studied at Emerson College and LAMDA. He was Sherri Shepherd's personal joke writer for the Newlywed Game and a staff writer on The Roast of Anthony Bourdain. Sean served as the youngest ever editor for the National Lampoon and later as a writer/performer on Wake Up World, the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway hit from Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead. Other credits include MTV, AMC, NBC, Electric Company, Comedy Central, & Onion News Network.

GREGG BELLÓN is a performer, director, writer, designer, and production manager.
