Photo Flash: MITF's DIVISION AVENUE Begins Tonight at June Havoc Theater

The 14th annual Midtown International Theater Festival presents Division Avenue, a provocative comedy about the intersection of faith, love and bicycles, at the June Havoc Theater - 213 W. 36th Street, first floor - beginning tonight, July 17 at 6:00p.m. Other performances include: Sunday, July 28 at 1:00p.m.; Monday, July 29 at 8:30p.m.; Thursday, August 1 at 8:30p.m.; and Saturday, August 3 at 7:30p.m. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the actors in rehearsal!

The play explores what happens when a group of freethinking bicyclists begins to encroach on the ultra-orthodox community of Williamsburg - and depicts the struggles of one young man who decides he's had enough of the Hasidic lifestyle.

Directed by Dean Nolen (who originated the role of Harry Bright in Mamma Mia) and written by Miki Bone, the play features Broadway veterans Joanna Glushak andMitch Greenberg.

The Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival's 2013 Season began July 15 and runs through August 4, 2013 at the June Havoc Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, 1st floor; the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, 1st floor; the Main Stage Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, 4th floor; and the Jewel Box Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, 4th floor.

John Chatterton created the MITF in 2000, a Midtown alternative to other theatre festivals, as a way to present the finest Off-Off Broadway talent in convenience, comfort, and safety. In 2003, the MITF moved its activities to their current location, the Theatre Building on W. 36th St., where it has been successfully ensconced since. In 2008 the Festival expanded from two theatres in that building to four, at the WorkShop Theater Company and Abingdon Theatre Company spaces. The MITF's artistic emphasis is on the script itself, and therefore the Festival focuses on effective but minimal production values.
