Outage Forces Cancellation of OBSKENE's First Preview at HERE, 11/1

The Obie Award-winning The Talking Band has announced that power outages downtown will force the cancellation of 1st preview performance of the new play OBSKENE on Thursday, Nov. 1 at HERE, located at 145 Ave. of the Americas at Dominick St. Paul Zimet, artistic director of The Talking Band, said the company would decide on Nov. 1st whether or not they will be able to proceed with performances on Nov. 2 based on the availability of power in the Soho area.

OBSKENE is scheduled to perform Nov. 1 to 18.

Conceived and directed by Tina Shepard, OBSKENE is a new play comprised of messenger speeches from classic Greek plays along with speeches from the near future written by 8 contemporary playwrights including David Greenspan, Deb Margolin, John Jesurun, Marcus Gardley, Sidney Goldfarb, Ellen Maddow, Lizzie Olesker and Mr. Zimet. Zimet, Shepard and Maddown are founding members of The Talking Band.
