Nickelodeon Star Hillary Hawkins Appears in Secret Theatre's JADED THE MUSICAL Tonight
Hillary Hawkins known for roles such as Kate in "Are You Afraid Of The Dark" (Tale of The Jagged Sign) and Robyn, Host of Nick Jr. (introduced "Dora The Explorer", "Little Bill", "Bob The Builder" on television daily) is now on stage in JADED THE MUSICAL at The Secret Theatre, 4402 23rd Street, NYC.
"Jaded The Musical", 2013 UNFringed Festival Selection, is the story of Jade, a talented but troubled young woman struggling to survive under the same roof as her mother. Please see a video clip here.
Saturday at 8PM is your last chance to see Hillary Hawkins in Jaded The Musical in the UNFringed Festival! When asked what's next for Jaded, the Nickelodeon star replied "I would love for Jaded to have an Off-Broadway open-ended run and also would like to take the show to high schools, colleges and women's organizations. I'm thankful for the opportunity that The Secret Theatre has given me to present this new work to the NYC community and I hope that people will start to talk about issues they may not have otherwise talked about after seeing this show..."
Hillary Hawkins, who is now a Smith College graduate and Denis Johnston Playwriting Award Recipient, is not only acting in JADED but she is also the playwright, lyricist, composer and director of the highly entertaining and thought-provoking 3-woman show. Actress Nicole Renee (Law & Order; Once On This Island) and Debra Pitkin (Split Ends The Musical; I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change) take on the roles of Mom and Therapist. Jaded features choreography by Nubia Quele Santos (choreographed NYMF Off-Broadway show Rio The Musical; was Top 40 on So You Think You Can Dance Australia) and Lighting Design by Lauren Bremen (graduate of Yale University). Also on the JADED team are Stage Managers Jak Prince and Gina Costagliola, graphic designer Jason Brandli and Mosaic Artist Leeza Calache.
