New York Theatre Barn Adds Four New Members to Board of Directors

New York Theatre Barn, a nonprofit theatre company that incubates, develops, and produces new musicals that tell untold stories, today announced the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors: Michael Bruno, Jonathan Freeman, Dylan James and Susan Thomas.

Michael Bruno is the President, New Directions for Grads, an executive search/advisory services business. As a longtime New York-based Human Resources executive with extensive experience with GE, Pepsi, Rodale, and IAC, he has worked closely with CEO's and Senior Leadership teams to achieve Board-approved strategic and financial imperatives. Over the course of his career, Bruno has orchestrated major efforts towards building world-class leadership teams, while implementing Human Capital strategies designed to improve the use and productivity of employees. Michael also serves on the Board for TicketMonster.

Jonathan Freeman, based in London, is a Reservist in the Pentagon as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Office of Strategic Plans and Policy and a doctoral student at London School of Economics. He previously worked in veterans' relations and veterans' outreach roles for President Obama's inauguration committee and 2008 presidential campaign, and was one of President Obama's first Political Appointees at the Department of DefensE. Freeman was an officer in the U.S. Army from 2004-2008, received both the Bronze Star for service and Army Commendation Medal for service, and served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He is currently serving as a volunteer on the Hillary for America Defense Policy Working Group.

Dylan James is a New York-based digital media executive with 20 years of experience across sales, business development, marketing, operations, general management and business affairs. James has been on the forefront of the growth of digital media and has been responsible for noteworthy increases in revenues and audiences across several brands, including Forbes.com, Microsoft, Fast Company, Inc., Women on the Web and Cool Hunting.

Susan Thomas is the California-based managing director of Capital Content, a media relations and communications firm based in San Francisco and New York. Prior to Capital Content, she worked in Silicon Valley, running her own company and serving in marketing roles for others. As a consultant, she has worked with Apple, IBM, Intuit, and the U.S. Department of Education as well as numerous startups and nonprofits. She has also served on numerous Boards of nonprofit organizations.

Our new Board members have all brought untold and under-told stories to light and have given voice to the voiceless over the course of their careers. New York Theatre Barn (NYTB) incubates, develops, and produces new musicals that tell untold stories. Each story is inspired by the lives of real people and actual events. The company has two innovative core programming presentation platforms: 1) New Works Series presents bi-monthly "pre-premieres" of new musicals in the incubation stage of development; and 2) The Choreography Lab, the only curated choreography platform where choreographers and writers collaborate to develop movement for new musicals during incubation.
