New York Neo-Futurists Present 30 Gay Plays in 60 Straight Minutes Tonight

By:

In celebration of the LGBTQ community and its advocates, the NEW YORK NEO-FUTURISTS will perform a special, one-weekend-only version of their ongoing, award-winning show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind featuring 30 short plays in 60 minutes. This year's performance will feature 30 original LGBTQ-themed plays, including world-premiers and fan favorites from years past.

All proceeds from the two performances will go to the Global Fund for Human Rights to fight for LGBTQ advocacy and activism in Uganda. The Fund for Global Human Rights finds the best human rights activists in countries around the world and gives them the resources to do their work. They currently support twenty-five LGBTQ advocacy groups in countries across the globe, from Pakistan to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Fund currently supports five LGBT advocacy groups in Uganda, including SMUG (Sexual Minorities Uganda).

Performances are tonight, June 28th and the 29th at 10:30pm. All performances are at the Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street, between Bowery and 2nd Avenue).

Tickets are $25 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online in advance at www.nynf.org, or by calling 212-352-3101.

Experience rapid-fire performances by New York Neo-Futurists Cecil Baldwin, Christopher Borg, Regie Cabico, Roberta Colindrez, Jeffrey Cranor, Cara Francis, Kevin R. Free, Ricardo Gamboa, Nicole Hill, Christopher Loar, Dylan Marron, Dan McCoy, Mike Puckett, Emma Reaves and Yolanda Wilkinson.

THE NEW YORK NEO-FUTURISTS are an ensemble of dynamic writer/performer/directors who present the critically acclaimed, energetic show of original short plays, Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind--a non-illusory collage of the comic and tragic, the political and personal, the visceral and experimental, while embracing chance, change, and chaos. Developing out of the format that has been a success in Chicago since 1988, the New York Neo-Futurists have roots in NYC from the mid 90's. Since opening TML in New York, they have created over 3000 plays and continue to present new and vital work every weekend in the East Village. For more info: www.nynf.org.
