Viva Mexico! When storyteller Joe Charnitski heard those words exclaimed from a stage in Mexico City he had to wonder: why was he feeling so proud, so inspired, so...patriotic?! These stories might be the answer. If today's headlines make you wonder, "What does it even mean to be a patriot?" this show is for you!

Just in time for the midterm elections! Find out why he supported Jimmy Carter in kindergarten...which politician he dressed up as for Halloween in the eighth grade...how he was able to vote twice in the same election (legally)....and more!

2-time winner of The Moth StorySlam considers, explores, and dissects the idea of patriotism, its inspirations, motivations, and consequences through personal stories and reflections on recent history.

Joe is a two-time winner of The Moth StorySlam competition. His story Haunted, Abandoned, Insane was featured on The Moth Podcast. He has performed at The Magnet Theater, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Atlas Performing Arts Center and other stages, bars, and living rooms throughout the country.

His first solo show JOE CHARNITSKI'S FUNERAL premiered in New York City in the summer of 2016, in association with The Tank, was a part of the 2017 NYC FRIGID Festival (where it was named as a Best of Fest Best Bet) and the 2017 Capital Fringe Festival in Washington, D.C. (where it received an extended run after being named Best of Fringe).
