NEIGHBORHOOD READING SERIES To Be Held At O’Lunney’s 9/19

Theatre East presents NEIGHBORHOOD READING SERIES upstairs at O'Lunney's, 145 West 45th Sttreet (bet. Broadway & 6th Avenue), this coming Monday, September 19th. 6:00 pm is a Mixer with the reading at 7:00 pm. All readings are FREE, but please RSVP to readingseries@theatreeast.org. For September, Theatre East will present James McLure's LONE STAR and LAUNDRY AND BOURBON. The Lone Star cast includes: Judson Jones, William Franke, and Christian Pedersen. The cast for Laundry and Bourbon is: Christa Kimlicko Jones, Shorey Walker, Valerie Redd.

LONE STAR is an uproarious comedy about two bawdily rambunctious Texas brothers, that is peppered with McLure's own special brand of cascading, spontaneous wit. LAUNDRY AND BOURBON is it's companion piece---the women in the story.

This fall, Theatre East will add to it's Third Monday Mixers by offering a free evening of theatre to the mix! Join us each month (September, October, November) for the NEIGHBORHOOD READING SERIES. Theatre East is committed to discovering new vivid theatrical works. The Neighborhood Reading Series helps us do just that while fostering relationships with playwrights and their work. Theatre East is also committed to celebrating all forms of theatre. The Neighborhood Reading Series allows us to do this even further without the confines of producing. In addition, it provides a platform for discussion and community by celebrating plays you may have heard of along with some that might be a bit more obscure. Theatre East (Judson Jones, Artistic Director; Christa Kimlicko Jones, Associate Artistic Director) is a New York based theatre company committed to ensemble collaboration through production of vivid theatrical works that explore our mortality and the shared human experience. They seek to build community by confronting isolation, allowing for a better understanding of their audience and ourselves.

Judson Jones has been working professionally as an actor, director, and producer for over a decade. He produced the Off Broadway premiere of Tim Blake Nelson's Eye of God, as well as a producing partner of Christopher Durang's The Vietnamization of New Jersey (NY Times Critic Pick) and of Harvest (Smith and Kraus Best New Plays of 2008; Backstage Critic's Pick), which he also co-directed. Prior to forming Theatre East, he served as Associate Director for Alchemy Theatre Company of Manhattan (2005-2008), and was a founding member of the dirigo group in Texas. Judson has appeared in over twenty regional theatre productions, including tours performing in Julius Caesar and the title role in Henry V.
