Matthew Archambault Leads Flux Theatre Ensemble's MENDERS 1/19-2/11

By:

Flux Theatre Ensemble announces that Matthew Archambault (The Lesser Seductions of History), Sol Crespo (Winner of the 2005 HOLA Award for Outstanding Performance of a Featured Actress), Vivia Font (Underneathmybed at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater), Mike Mihm (Odysseus in Ajax in Iraq), Ingrid Nordstrom (Nosedive Productions' Infectious Opportunity), Raushanah Simmons (ScreenPlay at The Flea), and Isaiah Tanenbaum (Jacob's House) will star in their World Premiere of Erin Browne's MENDERS, January 19-February 11 at The Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South).

The production will be directed by Flux Producing Director, Heather Cohn with Costume Design by Will Lowry (Le Grand Cirque at Sydney Opera House), Video Design by Trevor James Martin, Set Design by Cory Rodriguez (KCACTF Barbizon Award for Excellence in Scenic Design), Lighting Design by Kia Rogers (Ajax in Iraq), and Sound Design by Asa Wember (2008 NYIT Outstanding Sound Design Award for Flux's Angel Eaters Trilogy). The production will be Stage Managed by Jodi Witherell.

Corey and Aimes are new recruits mending the wall that guards their city from an unnamed threat. But as their teacher Drew tells them subversive tales of the world outside they begin to wonder at the real purpose of the wall, until an unexpected act of passion tears the menders apart. Inspired by Robert Frost's poem "Mending Wall", Menders is a hauntingly lyrical look at what we're walling out.

The production, presented by Flux Theatre Ensemble, will play a four-week engagement at The Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South), January 19-February 11; January 19, 20 & 21 at 8pm, January 22 & 24 at 7pm, January 27 & 28 at 8pm, January 29 at 3pm, February 2, 3 & 4 at 8pm, February 7 at 7pm and February 8, 9, 10 & 11 at 8pm. Tickets ($18/$15 students) may be purchased online at www.fluxtheatre.org or by calling 866-811-4111.
