Manhattan Theatre Source Presents OSCARPALOOZA, 2/23-26

By:

The 83rd Academy Awards are the inspiration for the latest in Manhattan Theatre Source's repertoire of speed-playing. OscarPalooza is The Source's take on the ten best picture nominations from 2010, plus one wild card 'Writer's Pick' of one of the winners from the past eleven years (The Source is celebrating its eleventh season).

And amongst the scribes is one of the writers from the ONLY best picture nominee not to get a screenwriting nomination! John McLaughlin - one of the triumvirate behind BLACK SWAN - is joined by the following veterans of the downtown scene: Bill Cozy, Ella Veres, Homer Frizzell, Jack McLauglin, Heather Jeanne Violanti, Jennifer Thatcher, Jessica Fleitman, Kristina Leith-Malin, Lou Borenstein, Mary McLaughlin and Montserrat Mendez.

The traditions of the Spontaneous Combustion events were used to randomly draw the selections of film, writer and actors, but the scribes have a week - rather than a day - to produce their 4-8 minute parodies from planet Hollywood (and beyond) over the past year.

The Source's take on the ten best picture nominations from 2010, plus one wild card 'Writer's Pick' from one of the winners from the past eleven years (The Source is celebrating its eleventh season) runs from Wednesday 23rd through Saturday 26th February at 8pm. All aboard for OscarPalooza!
