MADE FOR EACHOTHER Plays 2nd Annual Planet Connections Theatre Fest, Begins 6/13

What makes a person propose marriage on the third date? Why would anyone say "yes"? Such is the situation in Monica Bauer's Made For Each Other, a one-man tour de force about sex, love, and the power of memory. Directed by John FitzGibbon and presented by Good Works Productions, Made For Each Other will begin performances on June 13th at the Robert Moss Theater, located at 440 Studios (440 Lafayette Street) as part of the 2nd Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. Made For Each Other is an Equity showcase. Members of the press are invited to all performances.

Vincent's mother is dying of Alzheimer's, and he's terrified of ending up old and alone. Jerry's a nurse caring for Vincent's mom, who soon comes to care deeply for Vincent. But inside each man is a persistent voice, reminding them of unresolved issues in the past and urging them toward, or away from, a wedding day in Connecticut. Just who makes it to the altar on time depends on how well they listen to the one they really love.

A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, whose mission is "to provide optimal care and services to individuals confronting dementia, and to their caregivers and families - through member organizations dedicated to improving quality of life." Made For Each Other stars John Fico*, a former member of the Flea Theater's resident acting company, The Bats, in four roles: as Vincent, Jerry, Vincent's mother, and Jerry's Italian grandfather Damiano. Made For Each Other was recently seen as part of Emerging Artist Theater's One Man Talking Festival.

Monica Bauer's plays and musicals have been produced in Denver, Boston, Cambridge, Atlanta, San Diego, Providence, and off-off Broadway. Her show Lighter (book, music, and lyrics) premiered at the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Awards include 2010 Connecticut Stories competition for 10 minute plays (Answering), Outstanding Playwriting, the 2008 Midtown International Theater Festival (The Higher Education of Khalid Amir), third place in New Works for Young Women (The Maternal Instinct), and the Audience Favorite Award at Short Attention Span PlayFest (My Trip to the State Pen). www.monicabauer.com.

John FitzGibbon's directing credits include Save the Turkey and Life 101 (NJ Rep's Theatre Brut Festival), Bronco Buster (Samuel French Festival), Orphee (Open Eye Theatre), and Three by Tennessee (HPAC). As an actor, he has performed internationally and most recently appeared in Bird Sanctuary, with Elizabeth Franz and Hayley Mills; Souvenir and Poetry of Pizza. Show times are Sunday, June 13th at 11:30am, Wednesday, June 16th at 6:45pm, Friday, June 18th at 9pm, Sunday, June 20th at 4:45pm and Saturday, June 26th at 11:15pm.
