Horse Trade Theater & Wrecko Ensemble Present BASED ON A TRUE STORY 6/24-27

BASED ON A TRUE STORY is a performance series created by Wreckio Ensemble solely through letters, journal entries, and emails submitted by our audience. THE SEX EDITION is all about sex! Wreckio is bringing back the one night stand that ends with sandpaper, the tale of a week's worth of cross-gender sex, the Russian mail-order bride looking for love, and possibly your own dirty little secret.

BASED ON A TRUE STORY: THE SEX EDITION will feature Randi Berry, Dechelle Damien, and Karly Maurer.

The production, presented by Horse Trade Theater Group and Wreckio Ensemble, will play a limited engagement at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Ave and Ave A) June 24-27, Thursday through Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. BASED ON A TRUE STORY was conceptualized by Christopher Bamonte, Randi Berry, Dechelle Damien, and Karly Maurer with Wreckio Ensemble. Each piece is written by Wreckio's audience through submissions of letters, journal entries, emails etc. and is sewn together by the ensemble to create a cohesive story, without altering a word. Past productions of this series have been themed love, fear, and politics.

CHRISTOPHER BAMONTE (Director) Christopher is the director and co-creator of Based on a True Story. He has also directed Perry Souchuk's Happiness Island at the late night theatre comedy show Tim's Loft, and occasional works at New Dramatists as a director and stage manager. He was also the Assistant to the Director for Holderness Theater Company's production of Twelfth Night. He has also been seen working with Bill Irwin and Nancy Harrington in the ridiculous romps through the clown realm assisting them in their show, A Clown Lecture.

WRECKIO ENSEMBLE produces original and innovative works on social issues through their developing movement technique. Wreckio integrates the body, mind, and voice in storytelling to stimulate thought, creating a symbiotic relationship between audience and ensemble.

HORSE TRADE THEATER GROUP is a self-sustaining theater development group; with a focus on new work, it has produced a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater. Horse Trade's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent Theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy. It is also the home of FRIGID New York - the first and only festival of its kind in New York City.
