Zemwerk presents HMLT, a dark comedy co-written by award-winning playwright/actor/director Stella Maria Perry and director/writer/actor/designer Oisin McGillion Hughes.

This full-length play, based loosely on Shakespeare's Hamlet and Dark Lady Sonnets, as well as on the works of Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, is augmented by director Oisin McGillion Hughes with inspirations ranging from 1920s German Expressionism to the punk scene of 1970s London.

HMLT follows the melancholy Prince through a modern-day labyrinth of social barriers and expectations as he struggles to extricate himself with the guidance of a mysterious book containing a meta-history of his life, commentary on the original play Hamlet, and cryptic clues that force him into an investigation of human nature and the essence of self.

HMLT will be presented at the Producers Club (358 W 44th St, New York, NY) on Saturday, January 18th, at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are $20 at the door, or $10 (plus processing fees) if purchased in advance online at www.eventbrite.com/o/zemwerk-5821026941; please print out and bring your e-tickets.
