Pyre Cantata, an electric new R&B musical, will be performed at HERE today, September 4th - 7th. This mythic, soulful, vocally pyrotechnic adaptation of Antigone follows four young siblings as they try to fix the broken city of Thebes. The music, a soulful fusion of R&B, gospel, and musical theatre exquisitely sews together quick humor with alarming tragedy. Appealing to lovers of Greek drama and good music alike, Pyre Cantata is a fiery new twist on a centuries-old myth.

The ensemble features Corey Desjardins, Stevi Incremona, Zachary Infante*, Travis Kent*, Shannon Kronstadt, Melissa Lehman, Andrew Martin, Gil Perez-Abraham*, Paul Pontrelli*, and Kiah Victoria as the Speaker of the Gods. Music and lyrics by Trevor Bachman, direction by Christopher Bowser, assistant direction by Lauren Adleman, choreography by Amanda Hunt, production design by Brett Warnke, lighting design by Marika Kent, produced by Brídín Clements.
