New York indie quartet Gladshot will partner with James Rado, creator of the Broadway musical Hair and Johanna McKeon, the associate director of Green Day's American Idiot for a futuristic rock-n-roll musical: Barcode, September 30-October 2, 2012.

With McKeon acting as director and Rado as creative consultant, Barcode finds Gladshot both performing live onstage surrounded by several actors, and taking on lead roles themselves. Known for their dynamic live show, Gladshot has performed alongside acts like Ok Go, The Antlers, and Free Energy.

Barcode tells the story of a dystopian future where one corporation, Earth Corp, dominates society. Wielding control over the populous by imprinting barcodes on the wrists of every citizen, Earth Corp monitors all activity and privacy is virtually extinct. A star-crossed romance develops between Dorna, a member of the resistance, and Nest, the son of an Earth Corp News Anchor. Together, the young couple may just spark a revolution.

A tale of flag fests, mandatory debt, freedom viruses, prozac pops, and true love, Barcode is coming to New York City's Bowery Electric Sept 30th, Oct 1st, and Oct 2nd. For tickets, click HERE.
