Messin' With the Kid, a new play by multi-award-winning playwright (and creator of the Naughty Jewish Boys Calendar) Duncan Pflaster, will have a free reading this weekend as part of the Fresh Fruit Festival's All Out Arts Developmental Reading Series.

Messin' With the Kid was just recently named the winner of the 4th Annual Vittum Award, in the Full Length Play Category.

A young straight man turns to stripping and occasional gay prostitution to support his younger brother after their parents die. He tries to shield his brother from the darker parts of what he does to survive, but when a rich and decadent john offers more money than they've ever seen for a wild weekend, his brother may get drawn into the seedier side of life.

The reading is Saturday March 29th at 3:30pm, at St. Luke In The Fields, 487 Hudson Street. There will be a Q&A afterward, hosted by Jeffrey Leeds of the Fresh Fruit Festival. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.

The cast of Messin' With The Kid features Eric C. Bailey, Joe Fanelli, Brian Morvant, Imran Sheikh, and Matt ZanFagna
