Elixir Productions Theatre Opens ALICE & THE BUNNY HOLE at FringeNYC, 8/13
Elixir Productions Theatre Company is teaming up with Babeland and the LGBT Community Center to celebrate sexual expression and support community with the FringeNYC run of Alice & The Bunny Hole. Following each performance, the cast will present a high-quality, Babeland sex toy to a lucky audience member who purchased his or her ticket in advance. Purchasing advance tickets for the first performance on Monday, August 13 at 8:00 pm will also benefit the LGBT Community Center in the form of a $5 donation per presold ticket.
Following a trio of dark dramas at FringeNYC—including last year’s sold-out production of 2 Burn, which nytheatre.com called “entertaining,” “ambitious and thoughtful,” with “passion, well, to burn”—Elixir Productions Theatre Company celebrates its fourth outing at FringeNYC with a radical change of pace: a twenty-first century sex comedy by way of Lewis Carroll’s nineteenth-century funhouse, Alice & The Bunny Hole. What's inside Elixir Productions’ version of The Bunny Hole? Swinging twinks. Height-altering cocktails. Clues to the mathematical mysteries of online matchmaking. In Alice & The Bunny Hole, Alice thought she'd calculated the perfect life—until she discovers a wonderland full of fools, gogo boys, and one Black Bunny that scrambles all her formulas.
Elixir Productions Theatre Company shares with Babeland a belief in the political power of sexual self-knowledge. Committed to telling queer stories on stage, Elixir Productions Theatre Company is equally committed to the wellbeing of our community offstage. The LGBT Community Center has been supporting our community since 1983, and we are eager to give back.
The benefit performance for the LGBT Community Center marks the start of Alice & The Bunny Hole’sFringeNYC run on Monday, August 13 at 8:00 pm at Venue #8: The First Floor Theatre at La MaMa (74a East 4th Street); $5 per presold ticket will be donated to the Center.
Following the benefit performance, Alice & The Bunny Hole continues at La MaMa on Thursday, August 16 at 4:15 pm; Friday, August 17 at 4:00 pm; Saturday, August 18 at 9:00 pm; and Friday, August 24 at 4:15 pm. Tickets purchased in advance for all five performances will enter audience to win door prizes from Babeland.
