East 3rd Productions, one of New York's premier theater companies founded to empower artists so they can create multidisciplinary works that span social, cultural, and political lines, will have its the absorbing play, "Mary Esther," featured at the Michael Chekhov InterNational Theatre Festival in Ridgefield, CT August 28th at 1:30pm at the Scotts Ridge Middle School Auditorium. A woman's famous novelist husband commits suicide so her world becomes an incessant recreation of his life and writings, as his fans and followers demand a piece of their idol through her. Mary Esther finds herself caught between her real life and his fantasy worlds, constantly piecing together facts by studying fiction, understanding dreams through memories, and a romance, real and imagined, through a fevered game of "What if...?"

The Michael Chekhov InterNational Theatre Festival commemorated the 70th anniversary of the birth of Michael Chekhov Theatre Studio in Ridgefield, Connecticut. With the success of the festival in 2009, it was decided that it would be an annual event.
