Be Our Guest as we share with you a tale as old as time... now coming to a community theater near you!

The JC Players will be bringing Beauty and the Beast to community theaters in Middle Village and Glendale in August. This is the glorious story of Belle, a young woman who loves books and seeks adventure, and the Beast, who is a young prince under an enchantress' spell. Can he learn to love - and be loved in return?

Director Barbara Auriemma, Musical Director Frank Auriemma and choreographer Christine Hinz are guiding this production, which stars local favorite Sara Svezia as Belle and Charles P. Hinz as The Beast. Belle's father, Maurice, is played by Mark York, while Austin Auriemma plays the handsome, yet shallow and self-centered Gaston, and Jen Silverman plays his lively sidekick, LeFou.

The enchanted castle is made up of a host of wonderful objects, including Lumiere (Andres Caamal), Cogsworth (John DiBono), Mrs. Potts (Dolores Voyer), Madame De La Grande Bouche (Christine Hinz), Babette (Hannah Brown) and Chip (Benjamin Brosky). This production also features Alicia Brosky as the enchantress/old beggar woman, Navin Das as Monsieur D'Arque, and Joanna Freda, Michelle Meditz, and Michaela Pascuzzi as the silly girls. The ensemble includes adults Diane Close, Charles Hinz, Charles Huang, Scott Marshall, Richard Miller, Shelia Spencer, Lisa Vecchione, Frankie Wang, Mark Wilensky, along with children Lorenzo, Cicco, Victoria Coronel, Dahlia Harvey, Reilly Hinz.

This show invites theater goers of all ages to dream, laugh and enjoy the magic of a one of the most beloved Disney fairy tale musicals.

The production will take place at the Glendale-Maspeth United Methodist Church, 66-14 Central Avenue in Glendale, beginning Friday August 2 at 8 p.m. Additional Glendale performances will take place on Saturday August 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday August 4 at 3 p.m. The production will then move to Middle Village for additional performances at the Community United Methodist Church on Saturday August 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday August 11 at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and children. For tickets, go to www.jcplayers.com or call Randi at 917-647-7526.
