Dialogue With Three Chords Announce Cast For WELCOME TO THE APOCALYPSE SURVIVORS CLUB

Dialogue with Three Chords (D3C) announced their cast for their first installment of WELCOME TO THE APOCALYPSE SURVIVORS CLUB to be staged on Thursday, February 21, at 8pm downstairs at Von Bar on 3 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10012. The series of short performances, written by Stephen Gracia and directed by Michael LoPorto, centers on a group of people whose apocalyptic expectations didn't pan out. Admission is free.

D3C continues their eighth year producing independent theatre in lower Manhattan, kicking off their spring 2019 season with a collection of plays and monologues that blend characters from "When I Dream, I See Strange Men," a series of alien abduction monologues, with parts of "The Apocalypse Survivors Club," a full-length work. D3C originally initially produced the works in 2012 and 2017, respectively.

"WELCOME TO THE APOCALYPSE SURVIVORS CLUB takes a D3C play previously staged," explained Gracia, "and breaks it apart." The playwright said it was a way to workshop an idea "about a self-help group for people who must accept that the end of the world isn't arriving as promised."

LoPorto expressed a special feeling about the characters from both previous works being further developed in WELCOME TO THE APOCALYPSE SURVIVORS CLUB. "I'm excited to get the chance to spend some more time with them," he said, anticipating that the spring season performances "will eventually end up with a new full length play." To date, 118 original works have been written by Gracia and directed by LoPorto for D3C, which they co-founded in 2011.

The February performance of "Welcome to the Apocalypse Survivors Club" features: Sandra Bargman, Anthony DeVito, Marisela Grajeda Gonzalez, Larry Greenbush, Sadie Kay, Mel Nieves, and Anthony Marino.
