Cravens, Pailet Set To Star In THUCYDIDES During Samuel French Short Play Fest 7/16

Broadway's Pierce Cravens (Ragtime, Titanic) and Marshall Pailet (Adventures of Tom Sawyer, A Christmas Carol) will star in Geek Ink's production of Thucydides as part of this year's Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival. The one-act play is written by Drew Fornarola and Scott Elmegreen (COLLEGE The Musical) and directed by Dev Bondarin (Raised by Lesbians). It will play July 16 at 7:30pm at The Mainstage Theater at 416 West 42nd Street in New York City.

In Thucydides, a young soldier (Cravens) and a college student (Pailet) meet in an airport in their hometown, and in learning about each other's lives in Iraq and Princeton, each is lead to dramatic new conclusions about his own. The 34th Annual Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival will run July 14th - July 19th and feature a selection of 40 short plays, chosen from over 700 submissions by playwriting workshops, university theatre programs, and professional companies from the US and abroad. Each night, one or more will be selected to move on to the finals by a panel of judges made up of a New York theatrical agent, a Samuel French playwright, and a prominent artistic director. The finals will be held July 19th, the final day of the Festival. From the finalists, six will be selected for publication and licensing by Samuel French, Inc. The Off Off Broadway Festival started in 1975 and is New York City's oldest continuous short play festival.
