Fab Marquee Productions in association with The Theater Series at The 14th Street Y presents the LGBT multicultural production of William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth, adapted and directed by Tom Slot. MACBETH (OF THE OPPRESSED), playing a three-week limited engagement at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, Manhattan). Performances continue through Saturday, October 24th. Opening Night is tonight, October 10th at 8 p.m.

The Macbeth husbands and the Macduff wives are at the center of Tom Slot's reimagining of Shakespeare's most infamous tragedy, exploring gender bias while preserving the original text.

The days of political correctness have forced a prudish Queen Duncan to employ generals of all genders, races and sexual orientations into her army. Yet these times are still filled with the nepotism and prejudices of the past and General Macbeth struggles to be seen just as competent as his straight counterparts. With the conviction and support of his husband, and the predictions of greatness and power bestowed upon him by a trio of enslaved witches, he goes down a dangerous path of betrayal, greed and murder.

Featuring a cast of eight women and eight men. Starring James Edward Becton* as Second Witch, Susan G. Bob* as Queen Duncan, Adam Galloway Brooks as Son, Taylor Graves as Lady Macduff, Antonio Minino as Macbeth, Jon L Peacock as Malcolm, Elisabeth Preston* as Banquo, Shetal Shah* as Porter, Lavita Shaurice* as Third Witch, Jacob Stafford as Fleance, David Stallings as Husband Macbeth, Aurea Tomeski as First Witch, Jonathan West as Lennox, and Stephanie Willing as Donalbain.
