BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center Presents Treehouse Shakers' OLIVE AND PEARL for Toddlers

By:

BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in lower Manhattan, proudly presents the next event in the 2016-2017 Family Series Season: Treehouse Shakers' Olive and Pearl, on Saturday, April 1 at 1:30PM. Olive and Pearl is part of BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center's 2016-2017 Family Theater Season, featuring plays, musicals, puppetry, concerts and dance for all ages.

Treehouse Shakers return to Tribeca PAC! Olive & Pearl, written by Mara McEwin and choreographed by Emily Bunning,Olive & Pearl is specifically created for the very young child, ages 2-5. Centered on thematic elements of home, it is the story of a young girl, Olive, who is lovingly being raised by her Granny, Pearl. Intimately staged, audiences sit within Olive & Pearl's home, which is made out of a dome of soft felts, crocheted squares, and colorful fabrics. Throughout their day Granny builds fires, warms tea, makes meals and has a comforting lap with safe arms to rock Olive to sleep. The characters play fairy house, go on an imaginary journey to the moon and learn the Jig. Audiences feel different textures, smell rich aromas, and actively participate in movements. The original and live music score by Anthony Rizzo combines traditional string instruments and melodies of Bluegrass, Irish Fiddle, and lullabies. Magical, visual, stimulating, and oftentimes funny, Olive & Pearl is a supportive performance first for the very young and runs under an hour.

Tickets are specially priced at $21, and/or 10Club Members see the show for just $12. To purchase tickets or a 10Club Membership, call Ticketing Services at (212) 220-1460.
