Articulate Theatre Company is proud to announce the playwrights chosen for their signature event, Articulating the Arts. Each AtA is themed around an artistic discipline, such as architecture, dance, painting, and for this event, folk music. Our playwrights use these other art forms as inspiration for new plays, resulting in an increased connection between theatre artists and artists of other disciplines. Subtitled "Folk City Scenes" this Articulating the Arts will showcase plays inspired by folk songs such as City of New Orleans, Puff the Magic Dragon, and Turn! Turn! Turn! ABOUT ARTICULATE: The award winning Articulate Theatre Company, with Artistic Director Cat Parker and Managing Director Brittney Venable, is an ensemble company dedicated to works that promote "myth, magic and the mundane." We know the value in ensemble; the power of playwrights working with actors and directors that they know; designers working with plays from the beginning, in short - the power of putting "art" in first place. We use that power to bring dynamic works, both old and new, to our audiences.
