Ars Nova (Jason Eagan, Artistic Director; Jeremy Blocker, Managing Director) announces a jam-packed summer lineup featuring exciting new comedy, music and theater programming. Ars Nova's series aim to support the development of exciting new work from rising talent. Developmental series descriptions follow and a schedule by date can be found later in the release.

Project Residency New projects invited into residency for a focused period of work. Artists are provided resources and support, allowing them to develop work on their feet.

Uncharted A concert series to showcase the work of burgeoning musical theater writers, often debuting new material.

Out Loud Public readings of exceptional new plays designed to provide support and essential resources to promising emerging playwrights.

Showgasm New York's rowdiest (and free) variety show featuring a wide range of artists showing off remarkable talents.

Special Events A chance to showcase exciting artists often returning to the Ars Nova stage with new work.

PROJECT RESIDENCY

The Harmonious Pimps of Harmony (Wednesday, August 3, Thursday, August 4 and Friday, August 5; $15)
The absurdly famous masters of hip-hocapella return to Ars Nova in this all new look into their careers, their epic histories, and their really sexy futures. Fans expected to attend: 68 billion.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Showgasm (Thursday, June 2 and Wednesday, June 30; Free with RSVP)
Ars Nova's rowdy (and free!) monthly variety show is designed to present fresh music, comedy, theater, burlesque and vaudeville.

Cinemediocrity (Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29; $15)
Darren Dobson has scoured the Blockbuster Video bankruptcy leftovers to bring you his latest interactive movie screening. With help from his misfit friends, live musicians, and some relatively special guests, he'll guide you on an unforgettable night with a truly forgettable film. Created and performed by Dylan Dawson (no relation to Darren Dobson), and directed by Stephen Brackett.

For Cabaret Fans:

PROJECT RESIDENCY
Introducing Molly Pope (Wednesday, June 8, Thursday, June 9, and Friday, June 10; $15)
Splashing her signature retro vibe against a backdrop of popular music spanning from the 1940's to the Top 40, new-old-school-diva Molly Pope (with help from At Least It's Pink's Kenny Mellman) recounts her life from hopping off the bus in Manhattan a decade ago to taking the stage tonight. Directed by Jesse Geiger.

UNCHARTED
Grace McLean (Wednesday, June 1; $15)
With the help of singing roommates, a mystical shaman, and a smoking house band, ANT Fest favorite Grace McLean serves up a folk-rock song cycle that tackles what it means to exist in New York City in a time of earthquakes, government shutdowns, and Rebecca Black. Directed by Tim Drucker.

Shaina Taub (Thursday, July 21; $15)
Classically schooled on the keys, raised on the Steves (Wonder and Sondheim), and deeply rooted in soul, Vermont-raised singer/songwriter Shaina Taub creates a unique style of pop song, fusing funk grooves and explosive harmonies. Backed by her full band and a sizzling gospel choir, this concert marks the release of Shaina's debut EP.

The 54/10 Music Marathon (June 14 - 25)
Featuring a jam-packed two-week lineup of eclectic, cutting-edge sounds from bands on the brink, Ars Nova's second annual Music Marathon offers audiences a chance to discover the best of the New York City's up-and-coming artists all in one place.
