Amios Announces SHOTZ VS NEW YORK 10/3

On Monday, October 3rd, aMios will present Shotz vs. New York at the Under St Marks Theater, located at 94 St. Marks Place. There will be two shows, at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tickets, which include admission and a beer, are $10.

Shotz! Six plays. Five minutes each. Three themes. One night only.

Called "A theatrical time bomb" by The New York Times, on the first Monday of each month, aMios presents Shotz, a series of spontaneous, hilarious and sometimes heart-warming short plays that are fearlessly written, rehearsed and performed within one month.

aMios has been brewing fresh plays in the basement of the Under St Marks Theater since 2009. For the October edition, Shotz vs New York, each play must include the line "I can't even find a good job," make reference to the theater's exposed walls and end in a cliffhanger.

aMios (which stands for "...art and music in our souls." - Oscar Wilde) was founded in 2009 by graduates of The National Theatre Conservatory. aMios' work engages its artists in a process that is immediate, inspired, personal, organic and surprising. The writers are given themes, a list of actors and one week to write a five-minute play. The directors and actors are then given the script and a short period of time to stage the piece. Then aMios produces their work. Every performance is different, and each show is a fresh start.
