Washington, Clooney, Paltrow, et al. Join 'Stand Up to Cancer' Fundraiser

As reported previously, next month's Stand Up to Cancer TV special will feature several celebrity guests, including cancer survivors Christina Applegate and Maura Tierney. Accordig to Variety, an array of other Hollywood stars have signed on for the fundraiser, including: George Clooney, Gwyneth Paltrow, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Billy Joe Armstrong, and Renee Zellweger.

The hour-long fundraiser will include musical performances by Stevie Wonder, Natasha Bedingfield, Queen Latifah, Martina McBride, Aaron Neville and Dave Stewart. Other celebrity guests include Lance Armstrong, Fran Drescher, Elizabeth Edwards, Michael C. Hall, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Sharon Osbourne, Robin Roberts, Sofia Vergara, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Ethan Zohn, Sally Field, Ray Liotta, Seth Rogen, Seth MacFarlane, MAndy Moore, Alyson Hannigan, Apolo Anton Ohno, David Boreanaz, Abigail Breslin, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Jim Parsons, Terrence Howard, Cindy Crawford, Minka Kelly, Laura Linney and Reese Witherspoon.

Katie Couric of CBS Evening News, Diane Sawyer of ABC's World News and BrIan Williams of NBC Nightly News will be hosts for the event.

Stand Up to Cancer will air live on Friday, September 10 at 8/7c on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TV One and VH1.

Stand Up to Cancer is meant to give hope and provide information for the 12 million cancer survivors in the United States.
