The producers of VOX LUMIERE'S PHANTOM OF THE OPERA have announced that the award-winning immersive and interactive stage and screen experience is coming to New York City, beginning performances at the Daryl Roth Theatre in Union Square on Monday, January 16, 2017.

Created, composed & directed by Kevin Saunders Hayes, VOX LUMIERE'S PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will celebrate its Opening Night on February 2, 2017.

An explosive mashup of new rock music, breathtaking live performances and classic silent film, VOX LUMIERE'S PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is a completely original steampunk-inspired immersive and interactive experience for the 21st Century. Part epic concert, part interactive movie, part cutting-edge theatre, Vox Lumiere's singers and dancers serve up a fun and outrageous new twist on Phantom as they perform a fusion of original rock, pop, and EDM music, as dazzling multimedia and the 1925 silent film The Phantom of the Opera propel audiences deep into the action, drama and romance of this timeless classic.

"Vox Lumiere productions have electrified audiences from Los Angeles to Mexico to Paris, and now we're ecstatic to bring this spectacularly unique experience to the New York stage," said Hayes. "Vox Lumiere offers a riveting new kind of storytelling that is so much more than just a show. It tears down the walls between the stage and screen, and the audience and performers - and we couldn't imagine a more fitting home than the iconic Daryl Roth Theatre."

"I'm thrilled to have VOX LUMIERE'S PHANTOM as our next tenant at the DRT," says Tony Award-winning producer and theatre owner Daryl Roth. "This exciting, immersive and unique theatre experience will continue our tradition at our beautiful theatre on Union Square."

Like Cirque du Soleil and De La Guarda, the Los Angeles-based entertainment company Vox Lumiere creates captivating one-of-a-kind immersive and interactive multimedia productions, fusing old Hollywood with modern music, offering a fresh take on timeless classics that bring silent films to three-dimensional, high-decibel life. Vox Lumiere has captured the imaginations of audiences and critics alike, throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe, with their five critically-acclaimed touring productions - Metropolis, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Peter Pan, Silents You Can Hear and The Phantom of the Opera.

VOX LUMIERE'S PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is produced by Vox Lumiere, Kevin Saunders Hayes, Victoria Levy, Tom Smedes and Peter R. Stern.

Casting and ticket on-sale dates will be announced in the fall. For more information, visit www.voxphantom.com.
