Thomas Dekker to Join Jinkx Monsoon in RETURN TO GRAY GARDENS for One-Night-Only
THOMAS DEKKER, star of Backstrom on Fox-TV will join RuPaul's Drag Race sensation JINKX MONSOON and San Francisco drag legend PEACHES CHRIST in the New York Premiere of RETURN TO GRAY GARDENS, a theatrical comedy that pays homage to the acclaimed documentary film "Grey Gardens". This original stage show, written and directed by Joshua Grannell, also features MINK STOLE (Pink Flamingos) and BOB THE DRAG QUEEN in a cast of 14. It will be performed for one night only, Saturday, April 25 at Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center (17 Lexington Avenue at 23rd Street). After nearly selling out the originally announced 7pm performance at the 600 seat Off-Broadway venue, a 9pm performance has just been added. Tickets range from $25 - $75 (for VIP tickets that include a post show meet-and-greet) at 212-352-3101 or www.SpinCycleNYC.com.
Set forty years into the future, RETURN TO GRAY GARDENS documents the lives of an aging drag mother (Big Peachy) and her bitter drag daughter (Lil' Jinkxy) who continue to perform for an empty house at the now dilapidated and run-down Mason Hall in New York City. How did this happen? What will become of them? And will their famous and successful royal drag cousin step up and help out? THOMAS DEKKER currently stars opposite Rainn Wilson on Fox-TV's Backstrom. He is best known for his roles as John Connor in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Nick Szalinski on Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show, Zach on Heroes, and Adam on CW's The Secret Circle. His film credits include in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Gregg Araki's film Kaboom. In April 2011, Dekker starred as Lance Loud in the HBO original film Cinema Verite. He appeared in Daughtry's music video for their single, Waiting for Superman. RETURN TO GRAY GARDENS marks his Off-Broadway debut, though he appeared in the LA production.Photo Credit: Retna Ltd.
