The American Theatre of Actors Presents BLACKBIRD "The conversation is not over." It's a fitting motto for the upcoming performance of David Harrower's "Blackbird," presented by Blackbird Productions OLZ, LLC. The American Theatre of Actors in the Sargent Theater will be the epicenter for this limited engagement. Starting June 7th, show times will be Thursday through Saturday at 8 PM, with a Sunday performance at 3 PM, through June 17th. General admission tickets are $40 each.

Harrower's "Blackbird" deals with the difficult topic of sexual abuse of a minor and the longer-term effects that follow the victim for life. Because of the nature of this play, it was a natural next step for Blackbird Productions to partner with a non-profit to help continue the conversation about the culture of sexual aggression in America. The players aren't important, nor is the crew. What matters is the conversation that needs to be held.

Following each performance, the production team will be hosting an open forum and talkback session with guest speakers who are recognized experts in the field of sexual abuse treatment. Not only is this Off-Broadway revival of "Blackbird" a great opportunity to begin to understand sexual assault from a different perspective, the after discussion has the potential to raise a lot of new ideas and opinions that attendees may have not yet considered.

The cast of "Blackbird" consists of just three talented players: Gina Sarno, as Una; Nick Pascarella, as Ray; and Emma Osborne, as Girl. The crew that's making this production possible is headed by Director Roman Alexander. The set, lighting and costume designer is Alexander Oleksij and their sound designer is Dickson Lane.

Tickets are available through SmartTix, starting at $40 for general admission. Funds also continue to be raised for the play's attached non-profit, Rockland County Welcome Center, Inc., through a GoFundMe promoted by the "Blackbird" team. The play and its players can be found and followed through Facebook or Instagram.

The American Theatre of Actors in the Sargent Theater is located at 314 West 54th St, New York, NY between 8th and 9th Aves. Opening night is set for June 7.
