Off Sides Entertainment Inc. has announced that after highly successful runs at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (garnering 10 award nominations, including Best Musical), the Crown and Anchor Theatre in Provincetown, MA, and following its second side-splitting season at the New York Renaissance Faire, an open-ended run of Christopher Leidenfrost's new half-scripted/half-improvised musical comedy, THE GREATEST PIRATE STORY NEVER TOLD! will begin previews at the Snapple Theater Center on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. The production will officially open on Thursday, November 5th at 8:00 p.m. The show will run Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. Rick Leidenfrost-Wilson will direct. www.greatestpiratestory.com

THE GREATEST PIRATE STORY NEVER TOLD! is a madcap, musical adventure that revolves around Captain Henry Martin and his stalwart crew, who have been flung in to the future by a befuddled sea witch to perform the greatest pirate epic ever seen on stage. But with their script torn asunder, these pirates-turned-players are forced to improvise their show as it unfolds, based upon the audience's suggestions.

The cast of THE GREATEST PIRATE STORY NEVER TOLD! features David Anthony, Rebeca Diaz, Christopher Leidenfrost, Risa Petrone, Kevin Maphis, and Dan Pivovar (who won Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his performance at Planet Connections).

"I love this show because it's specifically written for both kids and adults," says the show's creator Christopher Leidenfrost. "We have over-the-top characters, rousing musical numbers, and crazy, slapstick comedy that never disengage the imaginations of our younger audience, but it's also filled with moments of wit and precision that grown-ups can appreciate and know are 'just for them.' Because the show is mostly improvised, it is quite literally never the same show twice. That's why we always say, 'The audience is at the helm!'"

THE GREATEST PIRATE STORY NEVER TOLD! includes set design by KaTy Roberts, lighting design by Christopher Weston, sound design by Denis Zapeda, choreography by Risa Petrone, fight choreography by Randy Kiersnowski, costumes by Scott McNeill. Kristi Leigh is the stage manager.

Christopher Leidenfrost (Playwright) is a musical theatre and improv performer who has spent the last ten years as a professional pirate, traversing North America and the Caribbean with pistol and cutlass in tow. "GPSNT!" is the culmination of each of his passions brought together: musicals, improv and pirates. He has written and directed pirate-themed entertainments for the Pirates of the Hudson Festival, the New York Renaissance Faire, and his own company, Off Sides Entertainment, Inc. (including Island Federal Credit Union's award-winning "Tell Your Bank to Walk the Plank" campaign). He has most recently appeared as Nathan in Beautiful Soup Theatre Collective's revival of "Rags" and Dr. Alan Campbell in MTWork's "The Picture of Dorian Gray". In 2012, his portrayal of Whizzer in his company's revival of "Falsettos" at the Bleecker Street Theatre earned him a Best Supporting Actor award from Planet Connections Theatre Festivity.

Rick Leidenfrost-Wilson (Director) has directed internationally, regionally, and in New York. Regional productions have included Oklahoma! and The King and I for Lakes Region Summer Theatre, The Children's Hour for Lantern Theatre, and the 2012 revival of Falsettos, which played at the Bleecker Street Theatre (which won the Planet Connections Award for Outstanding Revival. He has also directed his own productions of Hockey: the musical! in Toronto and The Declaration at the Robert Moss (for which he won the Outstanding Theatre Activist Award for his work with Marriage Equality New York and the Stonewall Veterans Association). He is the owner/president of Off Sides Entertainment, Inc. and has produced a host of theatrical and commercial ventures. His professional affiliations have included Provincetown Theater Playwrights' Lab, Theatre Ontario, Primary Stages/ESPA, Cape Cod Writers Conference, the Long Island Writing Project, and he is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA.
