Sarah Mackenzie Baron Will Play Michael Scott In THE OFFICE Musical Parody

Producers for The Office! A Musical Parody (www.theofficemusicalparody.com) today announced actress Sarah Mackenzie Baron will play the lead role of Michael Scott starting September 20 at The Jerry Orbach Theater. Baron, accomplished singer, actor, and dancer hailing from Los Angeles, beat out several other contenders for the coveted role.

"This is a role of a lifetime. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude to be making my debut as Michael Scott," says Baron. Some of Baron's credits to date include Scooby Doo and the Mystery of the Pyramid (Saudi Arabia Tour), Gamma Delta Nasty (NY Winterfest), The Adventures of Hot Head (YouTube), and Into the Woods (Arizona Rep.).

Because Dunder Mifflin firmly believes in Diversity Day, all genders, ages and races were considered for the role. Writers and creators Bob and Tobly McSmith were on the hunt for the perfect triple threat: singer, dancer and paper lover. "Baron is just the Regional Manager we've been looking for to run Scranton's 3rd largest paper company." Her audition tape can be viewed on the contest page at www.theofficemusicalparody.com/michael.

Baron leads an accomplished cast including Michael Santora as Dwight Schrute, Tom McGovern as Jim Halpert and Andy Bernard, Taylor Coriell as Pam Beesly and Erin Hannon, Katie Johantgen as Angela Martin and others, Rebecca Mason-Wygal as Phyllis Vance, Meredith Palmer and others and Ani Djirdjirian as Kelly Kapoor and others. Swings include Madeline Glenn and Patrick Swailes Caldwell.

The Office! A Musical Parody tickets range from $35.00 - $77.00 and are available through Ticketmaster or at The Jerry Orbach Theater box office (212.921.7862). Premium seating includes exclusive access to the stage after the show where you will have the chance to meet the actors and take photos "inside" Dunder Mifflin.

The Office! A Musical Parody kicks off its New York residency at The Jerry Orbach Theater (1627 Broadway at 50th Street) on September 20 for an open-ended run of five weekly performances. The performance schedule is: Wednesdays at 7:30pm, Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 9:30pm, Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm and/or 5:00pm.

In The Office! A Musical Parody, it's a typical morning at Scranton's third largest paper company until, for no logical reason, a documentary crew begins filming the lives of the employees of Dunder Mifflin.
