Ryan Scott Oliver Releases Songbook at Joe's Pub 2/7

On Feb. 7, 2011, Ben Crawford, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Lindsay Mendez, Krysta Rodriguez, and more lead a 17-member Broadway cast as composer-lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver releases his first published songbook at Joe's Pub. Performances are at 7pm and 9:30pm and everyone in attendance receives the collection free of charge.

The Music+Lyrics by Ryan Scott Oliver: Volume 1 Release Concerts (at 7pm and 9:30pm) will star Alex Brightman (Wicked), Ben Crawford (Shrek), Colin Donnell (upcoming Anything Goes), Cait Doyle (MAC Award Winner), COLE ESCOLA (LOGO's Jeffrey and Cole Casserole), KATIE GASSERT, Jeff Hiller (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Hair), Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Mary Poppins), GEOFF KIDWELL, Michael Lowney (La Cage au Folles), Lindsay Mendez (Everyday Rapture), jazz pianist Marco Paguia, Krysta Rodriguez (The Addams Family), Katie Thompson, Betsy Wolfe (Everyday Rapture), and more to be announced. The evening will be hosted by the writer and is directed by Travis Greisler.

Ryan Scott Oliver wrote the music and lyrics for 35mm, Darling (as seen on the 10th season of The Apprentice), and Mrs. Sharp (2008 Richard Rodgers Award Winner, at Playwrights Horizons starring Jane Krakowski, directed by Michael Greif). His work has been seen at Kennedy Center, Joe's Pub, and New York Musical Theatre Festival, and has also been heard Off-Broadway in We the People (TheatreWorksUSA), on the YouTube webseries The Battery's Down ("This is Your Life," et al; CD available through Sh-K-Boom Records), and in cabarets and showcases around the world. He is the recipient of a 2008 Jonathan Larson Grant, the 2007 Harold Adamson Award for Excellence in Lyric Writing (ASCAP), a 2007 Dramatists Guild Fellowship, and more. He is represented by Jessica Amato at the Gersh Agency.
