Peccadillo Theater Company Moves into Theatre at St. Clement's

The Peccadillo Theater Company, producers of the long-running hits Room Service, The Talk of the Town, and Counsellor-At-Law are pleased to announce that they have signed with Saint Clement's Episcopal Church (423 West 46th Street) to manage Theatre at St. Clement's, one of New York City's oldest continually operating Off-Broadway houses.

Peccadillo's relationship with St. Clement's began in 2005 when they had a major success with Elmer Rice's Counsellor-At-Law. The production began at Bank Street Theatre and after a sold-out run at St. Clement's, went on to win two Lucille Lortel Awards (Outstanding Revival and Outstanding Lead Actor for John Rubinstein), as well as an OBIE Award for director Dan Wackerman.  Other productions include the musical The Talk of the Town (two years at the Algonquin Hotel) and Room Service (several months at the Soho Playhouse).

The company will continue to rent the space to outside producers. St. Clement's has been outfitted with new theater seats, and Peccadillo is in the early stages of a capital campaign to perform further renovations on the stage and lobby. Its first production as resident theater company will be Charles MacArthur's 1942 farce, Johnny On A Spot, in October of 2008. This political satire has not been revived in New York City since it was first produced on Broadway, although recent productions in London and at the Williamstown Theatre Festival have been well received.
