THE NEW YORK CITY GAY MEN'S CHORUS (NYCGMC), one of America's premier gay choral ensembles, has announced its 29th season. The season, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dr. Charles Beale and Executive Director David Edelman, will feature three concert events that will look and sound unlike anything that NYCGMC audiences have experienced before: Celebrate Me Home: A Holiday Spectacular at Carnegie Hall (December 9th, 2008); The Big Gay Sing: A Sing-a-long Extravaganza! (March 2009, specific venue and date T.B.A.); and ¡Bienvenido, New York!: A Celebration of New York's Latin Communities at F.I.T.'s Haft Auditorium (June 3rd & 4th, 2009).

"I can't wait to present these three original concerts, which ask questions, push boundaries, and inspire action," says returning Artistic Director Charles Beale. "I know that New York audiences will be warmed by our holiday concert, tickled by our musical sing-along, and moved by the emotion and, of course, the beat of our outreach concert to New York's Latin LGBT community."

"After nearly 30 years, NYCGMC continues to make a difference with its music," adds Executive Director David Edelman. "Last season, Charlie Beale brought a passionate new perspective when he debuted with the Chorus and he has developed some wonderful ideas for the season ahead. Presenting three new concerts, singing new rhythms and reaching new audiences, this is going to be an extraordinary season for NYCGMC."

CELEBRATE ME HOME! A HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR!

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008, 8PM  at Carnegie Hall

NYCGMC returns to Carnegie Hall once again with Celebrate Me Home: A Holiday Spectacular. This year, NYCGMC gather with friends and family to celebrate the holiday season, while continuing its steadfast efforts to celebrate the LGBT community through song. As ever, the Holiday Spectacular will include an entertaining and varied mix of songs, celebrities, and surprises. There will be laughter, tears and inspiring messages of hope. With gas prices through the roof, ditch the car and spend an evening on Santa's Carnegie Hall Sleigh with a red-nosed reindeer and over 200 gay men of all shapes and sizes - you are promised the warmest of welcomes.

Celebrate Me Home: A Holiday Spectacular plays one night only, Tuesday, December 9th, 2008, at Carnegie Hall. Via Subway: take the N/R/W to 57th Street, the F to 57th Street or the 1/A/C/B/D to Columbus Circle. Tickets are $39 - $88 and will go on sale through Carnegiecharge, 212-247-7800, beginning October 13th. For more information, call 212-344-1777.

THE BIG GAY SING! A SING-A-LONG EXTRAVAGANZA!

March 2009 (Specific date & venue TBA)

The Big Gay Sing! - A Sing-a-long Extravaganza is a fun-filled and hilarious (yet somehow deeply glamorous) sing-a-long evening featuring all of your favorite gay songs. It's karaoke with glitter: all the show-tunes you can sing, goodie bags, popcorn and word sheets, plus ABBA, Chicago, Frank Sinatra, Madonna, Kylie, Britney, Judy, Barbra, and many more! Dress up, meet the guys, and overindulge as NYCGMC brings the community together around our favorite tunes.
