Producer Cedric Yau has announced that Josh Segarra will step into the role of Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days, the hit show now running Off-Broadway. He will replace Bryce Ryness, who is set to star in the musical First Date, on Broadway. Segarra will head the cast as thephlegmatic Phileas Fogg, the quintessential Brit who takes a bet to travel the globe in 80 days. Shirine Babb, Jimmy Ray Bennett, John Gregorio & Stephen Guarino round out this ensemble cast.

Since opening on May 30, 2013 at The New Theater at 45th Street, under the direction of Rachel Klein, Around the World in 80 Days has garnered rave reviews for this comedic play by Mark Brown based on the novel by Jules Verne.

Josh Segarra recently starred as Boland in the Off-Broadway musical Dogfight at Second Stage Theater, directed by Joe Mantello. He has appeared in the Emmy winning Showtime series "Homeland," opposite Claire Danes, the Fox series "The Following" with Kevin Bacon & was a series regular on PBS's "The Electric Company." Josh's film work includes roles in The Music Never Stopped, The Ministers & The Narrows. In the theatre world, he has starred as Mick in the Off-Broadway & Broadway runs of the critically acclaimed production Lysistrata Jones. At the Fringe, Josh co-starred in The Boys Upstairs and originated the role of Brent in FAT CAMP, the Musical at NYMF.

Around the World in 80 Days is a fun frolic & fantastic update of the visionary classic. To win a bet, Phileas Fogg, the Victorian action hero & his acrobatic sidekick Passepartout must circle the globe & return to London inside of 80 days. Unknowingly pursued by a tireless detective convinced that Fogg is a robber on the run, the fast-minded, fleet-footed pair traverses 4 continents & 3 oceans in a white-knuckled sprint. 5 actors cleverly portray 39 roles.
