The US premiere of filmmaker Adam Bertocci's keenly observed parody of Shakespearian archetypes, theatrical convention, modern pop culture, and especially the most beloved work of the Brothers Coen, THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF LEBOWSKI, will end its run on April 4th.

Being the misadventures of the beloved rogue known only as The Knave, his explosively assertive cohort, Sir Walter of Poland, and the lady Maude Lebowski, artiste and schemer, whose father Geoffrey "The Big" Lebowski's declining fortunes trigger a deluge of thievery, kidnapping, violence, mayhem, ninepin, and micturation, all of which lead the normally passive Knave into greater and greater danger, or at least greater and greater confusion. Plus, a pederast named Quince. If it all sounds familiar, it is, or at least it will be until DMT gets a hold of it.

An instant internet sensation and overnight cult favorite, this ceaselessly clever, daringly devious cultural mashup is perfect for DMTheatrics' signature irreverence, fearlessness, and bravado, and the combination of Bertocci's sharp wit and indie theater veteran Frank Cwiklik's trademark bombast is guaranteed to blow the roof off of The Kraine Theater. The show has already gathered a massive worldwide following, with fans from as far away as Baltimore, Detroit, the UK, and even Sweden already booked to attend this pop culture event. Already a runaway smash, THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF LEBOWSKI has broken Horse Trade - and possibly NYC indie theater - records by selling out its opening weekend Saturday night show within 36 HOURS of tickets being made available, and its second weekend Saturday night sold out barely 48 hours later. This is THE indie theater event of the year, and anyone who is anyone is coming!

DMT has called in its big guns for this comedy event, with several indie theater superstars returning to the DMTheatrics roost once again to suffer the slings and arrows of director Cwiklik's infamous bombast and chicanery: Brianna Tyson, who stole the show in DMT's Taking Liberties, and earned rave reviews for her stunning performance as Tamora in the recent DMTheatrics production of Titus Andronicus, is the cunning and stunning Maude Lebowski; DMT favorite and NYC theater workhorse Josh Mertz brings the impeccable comic timing that made him the audience favorite of DMT/Horse Trade smash hits Orgy of the Dead! and The Sinister Urge!, plays the dyspeptic and devious Geoffrey Lebowski; Matthew Gray, one of the longtime pillars of New York's indie theater scene, returns to the DMT roost after once again stealing the stage of DMT's cult favorite Bitch Macbeth, and plays both the smarmy Brandt and the psychotic Joshua Quince; Becky Byers, NYC indie sensation, whose DMT debuts in Bitch Macbeth and The Wild, Wild Women of Wakky-Nunu electrified audiences, plays the sexy and scandalous Bonnie Lebowski, and also choreographs the production with the same intensity and talent that made Fringe Festival favorite Willy Nilly the breakout hit of the season; and Craig Kelton Peterson returns from his triumphant appearance in DMT's Titus Andronicus to portray a series of comically conniving thieves, thugs, and ne'er do wells.

DMTHEATRICS was founded as Danse Macabre Theatrics in 1999 by producer/director Frank Cwiklik in New York City. DMTheatrics was launched with the express purpose of creating theater for audiences, not agents or academics, and for taking advantage of the immediacy and aggressiveness of live performance by creating immersive, emotionally engaging and spectacular theatrical pieces. By looking back to the classic forms of burlesque, vaudeville, cabaret, linear storytelling, and spectacle, DMT hopes to create new and exciting theater for the present and help usher in the future of performance with clean, direct, attractive works that excite, inspire, and most importantly, entertain.

HORSE TRADE THEATER GROUP is a self-sustaining theater development group; with a focus on new work, it has produced a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater. Horse Trade's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent Theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy.
