Halbach to Star in 3S Theatre Collective's 'The Affair in 22B'

Broadway actor John Halbach, known best for his performances in Roundabout Theatre Company's "Tartuffe" and Off-Broadway in Irish Repertory Theatre's "Beowulf," has been cast as the male lead role of Paul in 3S Theatre Collective's upcoming performance of "The Affair in 22B."

"I'm proud to announce that we have cast John Halbach is joining in on The Affair," says Marc Eardley, the play's Director and Founder of 3S Theatre Collective. "He's going to give a great voice to this neurotically deadpan character - and his chemistry with Renee Rakel (Abbey) is absolutely perfect. John can play geeky, sexy, pathetic and funny all at the same time; he and Renee are both stars in the making, and they are breathing so much life into the script. I'm very proud of this show, and I'd be surprised if there wasn't interest in keeping it around for longer than the two weeks we have planned."

The play revolves around the relationship of the two main characters, Abbey and Paul, who share their lives in a run-down New York apartment, and who are looking to build a successful and meaningful relationship, though Paul's eagerness towards conflict and negativity play an integral role in the downfall of the couple's companionship.

Theatergoers will enjoy the quality of the dialogue, as its unique style is personified by quirky scenes and even quirkier characters. The play was written by Jay Christopher in 1984.

The show premieres at The Sonnet Theatre at The Producer's Club, 358 West 44th Street, New York, NY on October 13th at 8 pm. "The Affair in 22B" will run until October 26th, with performances on Mondays at 8 pm, Tuesdays at 8 pm, Thursdays at 8 pm, Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 2 pm and 8 pm, and Sundays at 3 pm. Tickets will cost $27.50.
