HANDLE WITH CARE to Conclude Off-Broadway Run with Talkbacks this Week

The hit romantic comedy Handle With Care at The Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street), a Critics' Pick from the New York Times, which calls it "a hilarious and heartwarming romantic comedy" that "exudes gobs of comic energy and insight", concludes its run this Sunday and celebrates with two special talkbacks this week. The play, by Emmy Award nominee Jason Odell Williams and directed by Karen Carpenter ("Love, Loss and What I Wore"), will end its run with the March 9th, 3pm performance, two weeks after its originally announced end date. A talkback with Charlotte Cohn ("Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme" and starring as "Ayelet" in Handle With Care) and her husband, Jason Odell Williams (Emmy-nominated writer/producer of "Brain Games", and author of Handle With Care) on Tuesday, March 4th, following the 7pm performance. The couple, who met in graduate school at the Actors Studio Drama School in 1998 and were later married in 2001, have prepared suprise questions for each other.

A second talkback with the entire cast of Handle With Care will take place on Thursday, March 6th, following the 8pm performance. Both talkbacks will last 20-30 minutes and all ticketholders are welcome to stay.

Handle With Care features Tony-nominee and Broadway legend Carol Lawrence (the original "Maria" in "West Side Story"), Charlotte Cohn, Sheffield Chastain and Jonathan Sale.

Handle With Care tells the story of a young Israeli woman who reluctantly travels with her grandmother to America. Fate and hilarious circumstances bring together the young woman, who has little command of English, and a young American man with little command of romance.

Is their inevitable love an accident? Or destiny generations in the making?

The play, which already had numerous regional productions before its Off-Broadway premiere, is being published by Dramatists Play Service, and is in consideration at over 60 theatres internationally, including upcoming productions this year in Los Angeles and Canada. Producers Charlotte Cohn and Douglas Denoff said, "We always knew that "Handle With Care" was a regional darling, and we are very gratified that New York audiences have also embraced the show with love. We look forward to its continued success in theatres around the world."

Handle With Care is being presented by Bandwagon Productions & Douglas Denoff and Joe Sirola, Sara Crown Star, Neil Gooding Productions, Judith Loseff Lavin, Waverly Productions, Judith D. Rubin and, in association with Dasha Theatricals and Laurel International Holdings & Neal Rubinstein. The Creative team includes: David Arsenault (Set Design), Cory Pattak (Lighting Design), Martin T. Lopez (Costume Design), Jill BC DuBoff (Sound Design),Wojcik | Seay (Casting) and Brierpatch Productions (General Management).

The performance schedule for Handle With Care which concludes its engagement on March 9th, is Tuesday at 7PM, Wednesday-Saturday at 8PM, with matinees onWednesday and Saturday at 2PM and Sunday at 3PM.
